Forensic/Historical Discovery Assignment Process: *Get into your groups of three and read through Step 1
Step 1: Research
Look at the clues in the Glog below and then get a laptop or an Ipad to research the facts & follow the clues to figure out who your assassinated person is.
(Use Google to start out with) Meet back with your groups to put together all of the facts & clues that you researched and make a prediction as to who you think your assassinated person is. Once you think you have it figured out, bring me your clues & tell me your prediction (your group must back up your prediction with the research you have conducted) If you are correct, you can move onto the next step. If you are not correct, I will give you one additional clue & you must do more research to figure it out. Step 2: Analyze the Forensic Report Watch the Animoto below and then answer the questions:
□ What was the cause of death? □ What was the depth of the injury? □ With this kind of injury, would the person be killed instantly, would they become paralyzed, or would they have survived for a short amount of time? *Note: Participation during Steps 1 & 2 will be worth 50 points of your overall grade. Please make sure you are contributing to your group. Your participation will be observed and graded individually. Step 3: Continued Research Now that you know who your assassinated person is, go ahead and watch this video on him.
Based on your research and the video you just watched, answer these questions: □ Describe the atmosphere of the location your person was assassinated at □ Describe how the assassination happened □ Describe the effects of the assassination on society □ Why your assassinated person was important Now that you have answered those questions, please read this article on John Wilkes Booth: John Wilkes Booth Biography Based on your research and this article please answer these questions: □ Who assassinated your person? □ What happened to the assassin? Step 4: Group Project & Presentation Your group will be creating a Prezi about your assassinated person and then presenting it to the class. Gather & organize all of your information and assign each group member a role.
Person 1: Medical Examinor – Will be in charge of the slides and presenting the Forensic Analysis & your groups conclusions (make sure to include all of your answers from your Forensic Analysis Questions in Step 2)
Person 2: News Broadcastor – Will be in charge of the slides and presenting the details of the location and how the assassination happened
Person 3: Historian – Will be in charge of the slides and presenting the importance of your assassinated person, the effects on society, and what happened to the assassin.
